London Bridge…

I have tried several times to write this post…In the end I am going to simply respond with a few threads:

1. Sending condolences to all those families and friends directly and indirectly involved, and lots of healing, warmth and positivity to London.

2.  I much admire the current English response. Though not one to make comparisions from one tragedy to another, the language used by the English media is not inciting or inflamatory - it is heartfelt, empathetic and quietly strong.  This is exemplified by Tony Blair:

"We will show by our spirit and dignity and by a quiet and true strength that there is in the British people, that our values will long outlast theirs." (Source)

It is, as was noted by English radio on Friday morning,"the time for talking to one another".

3. The speed at which ‘news’ travels these days, aided by the mediums of mobile and net, again highlights that we live in an almost ‘timeless’ world. The "new" is news is almost instant…McLuhan’s "the message is the medium" is starting to make sense to me.

4. There is a positive lesson here too: Not to underestimate the power of small things. Small things have big impacts - we have witnessed it in the negative…the same concept can work in the positive.

5. I write this with a strange feeling of impending further rumblings from our earth…WAKE UP it is time to take care - of each other and our earth. It’s time to rebuild those fallen bridges!
