What does Collaboration really mean?

Thursday, July 7th, 2005

I found myself in a conversation yesterday about my desire to work "collaboratively".
I should note that this conversation was with a self-professed idealist and business owner. In talking about our (similar) ideas of collaboration I realised that one our sources of discontent was at definitional level - a lot of people have a lot [...]

When you just need to Talk to someone…

Thursday, July 7th, 2005

I am not sure I would recommend these "Intellibuddies" for every problem you have but a chat with one of these friendly

computer generated beings (’artificial intelligence’) is certainly a little bit of fun if you need a break or want a laugh. Certainly the range of looks should suits most needs and you don’t have to pretend to be [...]

Up for some Consu(m)mating?

Thursday, July 7th, 2005

Consumating,  made Austin, TX, is the latest in dating websites -  I discovered this the other month thanks to Adaptive Path’s Janice Fraser.
It is still in its beta phase (ie still being tested) but it’s certainly more fun than any other dating sites I’ve seen! Not that I have actually seen that many but…
What makes it so fun? The site utilises "tags" [...]

Kutlag Ataman - an artist I’d like to meet!

The stories are bound together by Ataman’s open style of [...]

Expressions of Hope

Monday, July 4th, 2005

Following on from yesterday’s Live8 post today, one day later,  The Melbourne Age has an article on Live8 discussing the potential impacts of the concert and also raising the (serious) debate that ensues about how to best relief Africa of poverty:
"It was a moment of perfect theatre, but will it change the G8 leaders or the [...]

Live8 - What will become of the Good Vibrations?

Sunday, July 3rd, 2005

Today Life8 is taking place - GLOBALLY!
I found myself in my car listening to Dido and an African singer, whose name currently eludes, singing Neneh Cherry’s “7 seconds”.
I was absorbed, not just by their voices but by the fact that the song mirrors what Live8 is all about:
“We don’t want your money, we want you!”
Or, [...]

Tractor to the Southpole

Friday, July 1st, 2005

Once upon a time a girl got on a tractor and drove it to the end of the world, and back.

The time is now!
With thanks to Jochem I discovered the story of Southpole.
"Southpole" is the journey of Manon Ossevoort, the young dutch woman, pictured above, who this year will hop on [...]
