A mirror from the rose garden of life
"Some think it is a shame the roses have thorns And some are delighted that thorns have roses" - Anon I chanced upon this quote today, while editing a letter for a friend. It reminded me of something I had written. I like the idea of putting them together and enjoying the polarity, the tensions. "A lifetime of roses needs watering. Like all rose gardens our lives are full of thorns – shards, jaggard edges and the weight of memory – collective and personal. Such is the nature of beautiful things." - An extract of my writing, Feb 2005.
