Invention and Wonder of the Day - The Alphabet

Think about it: 24 little signs can be rearranged into everything and anything!

"But of all other stupendous inventions, what sublimity of mind must have been his who conceived how to communicate his most secret thoughts to any other person, though very far distant either in time or place?

And with no greater difficulty than the various arrangement of two dozen little signs upon paper?

Let this be the seal of all the admirable inventions of man."     Galileo

I am not sure if it the work of (hu-)man, but certainly this thought warrants greater thoughts - each day we use these tiny building blocks to create words…which in turn creates worlds…and we can send them over time and space. They are at once past, present and future bound…

Small things are so wonderous!

    Don’t know if this helps but I find wondrous the fact that one can convert letters of any alphabet to numbers (gematria etc)and then find new meanings by that method(numerology etc) and find new things out that way;as if the alphabet is designed to be coded for future generations by that method(s) and communication can be facilitated over the centuries in an encoded fashion.

    even using a simple a=1 to z = 26 method GOD (7 + 15 + 4=g o d) equals 26 the exact same number of letters in the modern english alphabet which some say creates an “ENGLISH CABBALA”:TO BE DECODED BY THE MODERN WORLD IN THE 20TH AND 21ST CENTURY :-

    (see the books by William Eisen a JET PROPULSION LABORATORY IN PASADENA CALIFORNIA professor of mathematics and engineering; which I love and his work espescially “PHI AND THE KABBALA”volume 2 of his work “THE MYSTERIES OF PHI”)(1982 work)

    (with reference to the PHI and nautilus shell as just one eg of the handiwork of “god”)book; very dense but understandable when one reconfigures the neural pathways of one’s brain to learn a whole new langauge!)

    ISBN REFERENCE NO 0-87516-459-5 published 1982

    Library of Congress catalog card number 79-57053

    published by deVorss publications marina del ray california

    if that is any help re the phi and golden ratio

    at all?

    He also deals with pi and sacred geometry(and tarot and the tree of life)

    I find his work helpful re PHI and “metaphysical mathematics” etc

    in connection with your admiration of PHI

    even if one does not embrace the religious aspects it is a fascinating body of work

    he mentions the nautilus shell

    amd other manifestations of PHI the golden ratio

    isn’t it 26 not 24 letters as written above re letters of the “sacred english alphabet”

    (and despite china’s advances which i welcome to rebalance the world frankly)

    despite this the english alphabet;no coincidence here;(synchronicity in fact);

    is still the dominant one on this planet

    as if designed to faciliate this

    small=paul in greek so I love small tiny things!

    (and 153 in greek is the number of Mary Magdalen ;another alphabet usable to encode things mathematically as pythagoras wanted them to be and recognised in his school of sacred mathematics)(see margaret starbird’s work on mary magdalene but not the da vinci code which is more hollywood orientated and best seller orientated)

    and 153 = the number of fishes st peter caught in John chapter 21;

    “when he cast on the right side”

    ie the correct side;as instructed to do by Jesus Christ(74 plus 77 in english alphabet =151)

    in john chapter 21

    she (mary magdalene)was said to be christ’s “beloved disciple”(with saint john her husband) and his accountant and treasurer!!!

    I love the work of edgar cayce too(he was an american ;god bless america!)
