Sunflower Lesson
We have a lot to learn from plants.
Attention goes where energy flows…

I got a beautiful present of sunflowers today and it brightened up the room…but well beyond that ‘happiness’ they generate, I have been thinking about the sunflower and how it goes in the direction of the sun/light ie they are heliotropic.
I have a wonderful colleague, Anne, who is convinced people are also heliotropic.^ I am not clear this is true though I have noticed that our our attention goes where energy flows, but this ‘energy’ *can be positve or negative… For instance, joy, happiness and anger, frustration are all energising constructs at the bodily level…
It makes me think of the questions: Which sun/light am I following? Where is my attention going? - Towards things that feed and nourish me - Or things that harm and anger/frustrate me? What patterns am I growing and what patterns would I prefer to be growing? What do I want to be growing towards?
Action: what is one thing I can attend that energises me in a positive way?

* for those of you who are not keen on this use of energy in this context please suggest alternative words that would work for you…
