Questions to Move Beyond This is the way things have always been done…
Keeping in line with the questions theme this week I would like to add a question I heard at a strength based culture change summit I worked on this week: I make a commitment to move from "this is not how we do that" to "is there a better way to do that?" "is this still what we want to do?"….
to that I add "what was the reason we were doing it that way, and do those reasons still hold true today, and tomorrow?"
- The background: lately I am trying to quell my frustrations at the state of world…focusing back to myself and focusing back on questions that move us beyond being stuck…what use is it for me to say "I hate the ‘this is the way things have always been done’" if I am not also seeking to find ways to make new ways of thinking and being and operating safe, non-threatening and accessible for others who are still operating there, that goes beyond simply asking ‘why’?
