Pangea Day - Come Together and Meet the Other
I got an email about Pangea day - and it touched me.
Go to the site and watch the video/trailer. Or view it here, on youtube. Essentially it is a global event that takes place next year on various sites (think live earth etc) but shares films and music of the world - about the world.
‘Can film bring the world together?’ I think many things can. Music and voice and stories and people sitting together in conversations. One to one. One to many. As they say on the site "people can" - bring the world more together, that is. Back to Pangea. There is a reason we have such myths…
So yes, I answered my email to publicize Pangea Day, conceived by Jehane Noujaim, "the first step for world peace is for people to meet each other" as seems to sit with my own ideas ("people should eat and sleep together" is how I put it usually) and my own need to tell make and share stories- orally digitally - and to watch and hear others’ and help others make their own. And I like that it will be occuring around the world in real time and space as well as virtual. I think we are at a place in the world where we are tired, and we want something different…
So: Enjoy the trailer. Perhaps get involved. Submit a film.
And even if you don’t - I hope you take the time to meet an ‘other’ and hear their story. Once you share stories, it is very hard to ever go back to seeing someone as an ‘other’…

you have a very nice site. The kids loved making rogelech with you. I tried too, but it was a bit of a flop, nice smell but hard as a rock.
My spelling from memory was wrong, checked it and it is “Verba volant,(littera) scripta manet” My mum never got it wrong.
