Background to video: In February 2007 I took leave from work in New York to co-facilitate a digital storytelling workshop in the North of England with the wonderful Barrie Stephenson. The first day of the workshop is a ‘story circle’ – focusing on story, not new technology. The story circle ‘games’ help participants re-learn and regain confidence in their own skill as storytellers, and helps them find their own voice. At the end of this session, while packing up with Barrie a story of my own literally ‘flew out’ and within minutes I had my own story to make.
